Lucky Find Cottage in early spring, its porch framed by bare trees and white blossom
Louisville, Tennessee

Lucky Find Cottage

A cottage that was nearly lost, moved down the road, and given another ninety years. Now yours for a few nights.

Welcome

A highway expansion needed the land it stood on.

So in 2023 the cottage was lifted whole and carried two miles down the road to the family's hobby farm, where it was put carefully back together — original layout, original floors, and everything a guest actually needs. It sleeps six.

The Story

Ninety years old, and moved once.

The cottage is ninety years old. In 2023 it stood on ground that a highway expansion nearby needed, and the usual ending for a house in that position is a bulldozer. This one was moved instead — lifted in one piece and carried two miles, which is where the name comes from.

The restoration kept the original layout and the hardwood floors and left the plan alone. What changed is everything you would want changed in a house of that age — and nothing you would want kept.

Inside

Two bedrooms, and room to sit still.

Two bedrooms with queen beds, and two twins in the loft up the spiral stair — six comfortably, on old floors, with enough space that nobody is stepping over anybody.

It is a whole house to yourselves, not a room in one — you arrive, you have the place, and the farm goes quietly on around you.

Outside

A working hobby farm, just past the porch.

The cottage sits on a working hobby farm. That is the difference between this and a house in town: the view out of the window is somebody's actual morning, and it starts early.

Close enough to Knoxville and the airport to be easy, far enough out to be genuinely quiet.
